COLLABORATION
While I do not work directly on The Warrior Television publication, we like to collaborate on different projects. If someone from WTV is interviewing someone needed for a story or yearbook spread, we can use the transcripts for quotes and information. We also like to have a person from 2 or more publications at any given event so we can get as much coverage as possible from different angles and different media types. That being said, I often go to events with a WTV member and report on things that they can not get to and vice versa. I also post videos created by the WTV team and behind the scene clips on our social media platforms.

from video to paper
An example of this collaboration is the story I created using transcripts from a WTV Video about a choir teacher's retirement. With permission from the producer and broadcaster, I used quotes from the interviews found in the video to write a story. I gave credit to the broadcaster and made sure she approved of the story before submitting the yearbook spread.

staying in the loop
Circling back to the idea of collaboration, I like to meet with our WTV Editors during Publication Editing class in order to see where we can collaborate on different projects. If they have the need for a certain photo or graphic and I need an interview with someone, we can plan and discuss when and where those things will be done.

WTV Editor Evan Kugler discusses their plan for a video about AP Art with writer Ryan Kelly and Photographer Gage Vondra. Evan was planning  the filming process while Ryan was discussing coming in for interviews. Gage and I were planning photos that will accompany the story when posted on Westside Wired and The Shield. I also discussed creating graphics to go on the products made.

 INSTAGRAM REELS &  tik tok
The video format reporting that I do is a part of my social media work. I post short form videos on both Tik Tok and Instagram Reels. More of these videos can be found on our social media pages!
